Right now you are facing problems.

How do I know?

Because everyone is facing problems.

Problems always exist because they are a part of life.

The question is: How do you solve your problems?

By analysing them, identifying solutions, building plans and taking immediate action.

How do you decide exactly what you should do?

By thinking logically about the problem and its causes.

How do you do that?

By asking and answering specific questions designed to generate a plan of action.

Exactly, what questions are these?

There are eight questions that you may want to memorise

Whenever you are in a difficult situation, ask and answer the following ten questions.

The result of asking and answering these questions is that you will have in your hand:

1.            An analysis

2.            A possible solution

3.            A plan of action

Here are the ten questions to be memorised

1 What are all the relevant facts concerning the situation?

Make a list of all the relevant facts that you know, pertaining to the situation.

2 What are the facts that we don't know and need to discover?

The above list at 1 will be deficient.

There are some things that you do not know, and will need to find out. Make a second list. Gather the missing information

With the two lists ask and answer this next question.

3From the current situation what is the best possible outcome or goal that it would be legitimate to aim for?

From where we are now, what is the best outcome, or goal that is from here conceivable?

Write the goal down.

4 With that goal in mind, who do we know that could help us?

You will need help from others. Make a list of the people you will need to help you.

5 With the goal in mind what resources do we have available, or could make available

If you do not have everything, do what you can with what you have got.

6  In order to achieve the goal at 3, what skills and knowledge do we need to acquire or buy in?

You will need specialised knowledge and practical skills. Name the knowledge and the skills needed.

7 With all the information gathered so far, write out a step by step plan of action detailing

Make a plan detailing: Who will do what, when, with what?

8 When you have your plan of action, choose the very first thing to be done

And decide exactly when you will start (today)

9 Agree the time and place you will gather the team together for a feedback session.

Do repeat the process and improve and extend the plan

Summary

Everyone is facing problems.

How do you solve your problems?

By analysing them, identifying solutions, building plans and taking immediate action.

These questions will help the process.
